Grading Success

Congratulations to Anthony Francis who passed his Shodan and Joshua Pullar who passed his Sandan grading at Mumeishi this weekend. Well done guys you've really put the work in so it's well deserved.

Grading Success

'Liverpool Old Boy' Andy Checkly, now resident in Japan, has just passed his Ikkyu grading there. He will be preparing for his Shodan in November and his Japanese Sensei seems confident he will pass. It's great news for Andy and also testament that our Club is teaching people in a way that is recognised favorably in the home of Kendo [not that there was any doubt, but it's nice].

Congratulations Andy, keep up the good work, we look forward to hearing back from you in November!

Thinking ahead

I've just added a couple of dates to the Liverpool Calendar that may be of interest to us in the future. Firstly the Bowden Taikai on Saturday the 4th June (with the Premiers Cup on the Sunday). Secondly there is the Stoke Seminar and grading on the 16th and 17th of July. There's a grading in Watchett, Somerset, before then but as Stoke is the nearest grading event to us it's usually the 'grading of choice' for those who have thoroughly got the bug having been 'blooded' in the Kyusha Taikai.

Glasgow grading.

News hot off the text is that Ben Hughes has passed his Shodan at the Glasgow grading today. Also Liverpool Old-Boy Chris Carey also hit the first dan mark. Congratulations to both.

Unfortunately Rob was unsuccessful, better luck next time.
